Are you a strategic financial leader who thrives in managing and optimizing financial operations in a fast-paced environment? At Quidax, we’re looking for a Financial Controller to lead our Finance team, oversee core financial functions, and work closely with our leadership team to scale our financial operations.

This role is critical to shaping Quidax’s financial strategy and ensuring the company’s financial health as we expand globally. You will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient financial systems, driving compliance, and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations in the dynamic world of cryptocurrency and fintech.

What you will be doing

As the Financial Controller, you will:

• Act as a strategic partner to the CFO, assuming responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations and enabling the CFO to focus on broader organizational strategy.

• Oversee and manage the Finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.

• Develop and implement financial strategies, systems, and processes that align with the company’s growth objectives.

• Prepare and consolidate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) in compliance with IFRS or GAAP.

• Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making.

• Ensure proper accounting treatment for cryptocurrency transactions, including valuation, custody, and taxation.

• Lead external audits and build relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.

• Monitor and manage treasury functions, including cash flow, investments, and working capital optimization.

• Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, particularly in the cryptocurrency and fintech sectors.

• Drive continuous improvements in financial systems, controls, and reporting mechanisms.

What your day-to-day looks like

• Lead the preparation and timely delivery of consolidated financial reports.

• Manage and mentor the finance team, ensuring they meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in all deliverables.

• Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax filings.

• Conduct regular reviews of financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency gains.

• Work cross-functionally with other teams to align financial strategies with organizational goals.

• Stay informed about the evolving landscape of cryptocurrency regulations and accounting practices, ensuring compliance at all levels.

What you need to have

To succeed in this role, you must bring:

• 6+ years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in the cryptocurrency, fintech, or technology sectors.

• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).

• Proven leadership experience, including managing and mentoring finance teams.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

• Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements and managing audits.

• Knowledge of cryptocurrency accounting and the financial operations of exchanges or digital wallets.

• Expertise in taxation, treasury management, and regulatory compliance within fintech or crypto industries.

• Advanced skills in Excel and financial management tools (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP).

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.

• Ability to work methodically, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Must Haves

• Proven experience in the cryptocurrency or fintech industry.

• Deep understanding of international financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS or US GAAP).

• Demonstrated ability to scale and optimize financial systems and processes.

• Experience in overseeing treasury, tax, and compliance functions.
  

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with crypto-specific tools and platforms.

• Prior experience working with blockchain or digital asset ecosystems.

• Exposure to crypto taxation frameworks in multiple jurisdictions.

• A passion for blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency industry.
